Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
1. Introduction
DietBargains (“we”, “us”, “the App”) helps people living with diabetes record meals, glucose, exercise, and insulin-related information, and receive informational estimates in chat. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share personal data when you use the App.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: email address and credentials or OAuth identifiers needed to create and secure your account.
- Health and lifestyle data you choose to enter: blood glucose values, carbohydrate estimates, insulin doses, exercise, notes, and content you send in chat (including images when you use image features).
- Technical data: device type, app version, diagnostic logs, and timestamps needed to operate the service, fix bugs, and protect security.
We do not ask for more than is reasonably needed for the features you use. Many fields are optional.
3. How we use your data
We use personal data only to:
- provide and improve App functionality (including our backend and, where enabled, algorithm or AI services that process your inputs);
- maintain account security and prevent abuse;
- comply with applicable law; and
- send important service notices.
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
Depending on your region, we may rely on consent, contract performance, legitimate interests (e.g. security and product improvement), or legal obligation.
5. Storage and security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure; we work continuously to reduce risk.
6. Sharing
We may share data with:
- Service providers (hosting, email, analytics) strictly as needed to run the App, under confidentiality and data-processing terms;
- Authorities when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or the public.
We do not allow service providers to use your health data for their own marketing.
7. Retention
We retain data as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for backups, legal compliance, and dispute resolution, unless a shorter period is required by law.
8. Your rights
Subject to local law, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing, object, or port your data. To exercise these rights, use in-app support or the contact channel provided with your distribution of the App.
9. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe we have collected a child’s data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
10. International transfers
If servers or processors are located outside your country, your data may be transferred there with appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses) where required.
11. Changes
We may update this Policy. We will post the new version in the App and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
12. Contact
For privacy questions, contact the operator or support channel associated with your build of DietBargains (e.g. the email or support form listed in the App store listing or in-app settings).
